The annual Bentonia Blues Festival started in the early 70’s by Jimmy “Duck” Holmes. The festival is held in mid June at the Holmes Farm on Wilson Holmes Road, about 2.5 miles north of the town of Bentonia.  The related events are usually held the week leading up to the the festival at the famous and Mississippi’s oldest juke joint, the Blue Front Cafe in Bentonia.
