You can see where Elvis took the stage on July 30, 1954 for one of his earliest professional performances. Not yet a headline act, Elvis opened for Slim Whitman and Billy Walker. The outdoor stage is located close to the Memphis College of Art in Overton Park and still holds special performances. Check schedules the website link for free concerts featuring the many genres of Americana music.
