Born Robert Lee McCollum, this famous Helena native was known for his slide guitar playing. There’s a Mississippi Blues Trail marker in Friars Point MS, about 20 miles from here, commemorating Robert Nighthawk. To find this gravestone, there should be a sign on Springdale Road west bound, just prior to Wire road, that directs you to Magnolia Cemetery. Wire Road is a minor road. Keep going until you see the cemetery’s gate to your left. Robert Nighthawk’s headstone is right next to Frank Frost’s.
